- 10,624 total member company registrations by end of June 2015
- All services available online anywhere, at any time on any device
- Technology driving 160-plus member company registrations a month
- Digital registration process reduces paper usage by 40% in 1 year
DMCC, one of the world’s leading commodity hubs for trade and enterprise and the largest and fastest growing Free Zone in the UAE with over 10,600 member companies, enjoyed a better than expected 10 per cent increase in member company registrations in the first six months of the year, a rate of growth only made possible by DMCC’s digital transformation.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, said:
“Our transformation has enabled us to outperform our growth targets whilst allowing us to interconnect our entire community. You can find all our services and products online. Innovation and technology play a major role in how we at DMCC interact with our stakeholders and facilitate trade across the world.”
In 2013, DMCC embarked on an IT Free Zone transformation initiative, which not only moved all its Free Zone operations to Salesforce, one of the most innovative IT platforms in the world, but also transformed all of its touch points and interactions with member companies. All services are available and accessible anywhere at any time on any device.
Today, DMCC is the only Free Zone in the UAE where you can register a company and get licensed completely online. And if you have a query during the process, DMCC agents are available around the clock through online channels via the DMCC portal and on live chat.
What is more, the DMCC Free Zone is going paperless thanks to the IT transformation initiative. We have reduced the amount of paper we use by 40 percent, saving more than 120 trees in just one year. For added security, all online documents come with a unique secure code which is easily verifiable by any authority, meaning once you are registered at DMCC you can interact electronically with any authority in the UAE.
DMCC’s goal has always been to provide a fully-fledged ecosystem to our members - a one-stop shop for commerce. Today, a large number of value added services ranging from banking, insurance, mediation, real estate and many more are offered to our members through our trusted partners, all of which are available through the DMCC portal.
Innovation and efficiency have always been core to DMCC, and embedded in our culture. This year will mark even more significant progress in this area when we launch the electronic signature feature and many other improvements to our member experience, further enhancing our 84 per cent member satisfaction rate.
Gautam Sashittal, Chief Executive Officer, DMCC, said:
“DMCC’s transformation initiative is not only a digital endeavour, it has completely transformed our culture. The way we interact with our member companies, the way we offer services and the way we interact with our own team has been changed for the better, for good. DMCC is engaged in a continuous drive for innovation and efficiency to ensure we maintain the impressive growth rates we have achieved until now. We look forward to even greater transformation to come.”
