Dubai has seen extraordinary growth as a centre for the diamond industry, recently rising to become one of the top three distribution centres in the world with trade increasing fourfold from just $10m in 2009 to a figure closer to $40 billion today.
Pivotal to this success is the Dubai Diamond Exchange, a DMCC initiative established in 2005 to provide a platform for trade and networking between different parties involved in diamonds. The DDE remains the only bourse in the GCC affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, and we are proud to host over 500 regional and international diamond firms. Almas Tower, where our value-added services for DDE members are located, is also home to Dubai Diamond Vaults, the region’s only Kimberley Process office and the local branch of the International Gemological Institute.
