Over 100 delegates attended DMCC’s exclusive annual dinner in London last Thursday hosted by Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Gautam Sashittal, Chief Executive Officer, DMCC. The guest list this year was studded with local dignitaries and government ministers, including His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Minister Plenipotentiary & Head of Economic Affairs.
Guests came together to further explore what the future holds for trade and smart cities and how to strengthen business and trading relations. So it stands to reason that the dinner would be held in the futuristic glass dome of the towering venue known as Searcys The Gherkin, standing 180 metres tall over London’s financial district.
The event was opened by Ahmed Bin Sulayem, who amongst other achievements, highlighted DMCC’s most recent milestone; that over 12,000 businesses now call our Free Zone home. This has further secured DMCC’s place as the largest and fastest growing free zone in the Middle East and North Africa.
“Delivering strong and sustainable results whilst continuously pursuing new opportunities is what has made Dubai and DMCC a global connected marketplace and home to the most talented and driven businesses and innovators in the world”, said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC.
In his closing speech, Gautam Sashittal reflected on the successes of the past year, which included the completion ofOne JLT– grade A office space in JLT, the launch of the Middle East’s first Google for Entrepreneurs Global Tech Hub and DMCC’s Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) record-breaking trading volumes of over 14.5 million contracts.
