DMCC – the world’s flagship Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise – has today published its annual sustainability report as part of its commitment to annually disclose its performance in line with the Global Reporting Initiative standards and the UN Global Compact.
This year’s report is the first to undergo an assurance process conducted by an independent auditor since 2017. The report provides an update on DMCC’s sustainability metrics and outlines the progress made on three strategic pillars which are Sustainable City, Operational Excellence and Responsible Business Ecosystem.
DMCC continues to build on its existing ESG strategy with the organisation appointing a Sustainable Development Goals Steering Committee in 2018 to ensure the collaborative implementation of organisation’s sustainability objectives and achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
In August 2017, DMCC became the first free zone in the GCC to commit to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, encouraging responsible business practice throughout the entire value chain.
