DMCC Showcases Business Set Up And Expansion In Dubai To Senior Indian Delegation

DMCC – the world’s flagship Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise – welcomed an official delegation from the Government of Odisha, India, during which senior executives demonstrated how DMCC increases the ease of setting up and expanding a business in Dubai through industry-leading facilities and solutions for its member companies. 

The official delegation was led by Suresh Chandra Mohaptra, Chief Secretary of Odisha, and comprised representatives from various bodies within the Government of Odisha, including the Department of Industries, the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, the Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL), and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

Hosted by senior DMCC executives at its headquarters in Almas Tower, the delegation was briefed on the vibrant trade and business landscape of Dubai and how DMCC contributes to facilitating trade to and through the emirate. The delegation was also shown how DMCC supports Indian companies through bespoke facilities, services, and products.

Diplomatic and trade relations between the UAE and India have increased substantially over recent years. Earlier this year, the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement was signed. The UAE-India CEPA is a wide-ranging trade and investment pact that is expected to boost bilateral trade to over USD 100 billion within the next five years. India represents one of DMCC’s core target markets, with 2500 Indian companies currently based in DMCC’s free zone.
